Record low water should mean Blue Mesa sees early and lots of ice!

Blue Mesa reservoir is now over 80′ low!  This is roughly 31% of capacity.  However, Blue Mesa is still a very large reservoir with plenty of ice fishing opportunities coming up!  With this low water, we should start to see some ice forming on Blue Mesa around the first part of December.  Rainbow and brown trout and possibly some yellow perch opportunities will start off the ice season and then we should have some lake trout and kokanee salmon options as we get into January!  We are expecting the lake to completely freeze and because of this, we are anticipating a very good ice fishing season due to great access!  Stay tuned as ice conditions start to set up.
