Tarryall Ice Fishing Report: Good Action!

This Tarryall Ice Fishing Report is courtesy of Robby Richardson and his Ice Fish Colorado guides: The ice is safe with 10+” across the lake. Every day has been a little different, but overall there have been a lot of opportunities through the ice at Tarryall Reservoir! Most fish are in the 10-14″ range, but we have had some as big as 18″ show up with 10-20 fish days being common. The first few hours of light have been the most productive and the bite has been very light most of the time. A spring bobber or rod tip indicator is a must to see the majority of the bites! Small ice jigs such as rat finkies, ratsos, tube jigs, and trout magnets have all produced fish, but color experimenting seems to help when the bite gets tough. Pink, white, orange, and green have all been producing. There have been some windows where the fish want a spoon worked very aggressively! Small Pk Flutter Fish, Dx Lures spoons, and Kastmasters have all been producing strikes. Be sure to tip your jig with a piece of meal worm, wax worm, power bait, or shrimp. There have been a few pike caught as well, but not with any consistency. Tip ups with a sucker or water dog is your best bet.
