Antero Ice Fishing Report: Fishing action heating up!
Antero Reservoir is a very popular ice fishing location and this year has been no exception! Fishing started off hot, but has been a little more challenging over the last few weeks with all of the pressure that the fish are seeing. The incoming storm fronts may have had an impact, but the last few days we have seen an improvement in the bite with more aggressive fish! We are finding good traffic in the 8-14 foot of water range and the ticket to consistently getting in the action has been moving until you find consistent fish traffic. If the fish you are finding aren’t active/biting, keep moving until you find fish that are more active! We are finding success on a mix of colors, but most mornings pink and orange variations have consistently produced!
There are 2-6″ of snow on the ice, but most of it is windblown and easy walk and tow a sled over. Ice is running 8-12″.
