Antero Ice Fishing Report: the season isn’t over yet!

Antero Ice Fishing Report:

There is still some ice fishing to be had on Antero reservoir! Ice is 12-20″ thick across the reservoir with 1-5″ of snow/slush. The ice still seems to be pretty hard despite some warm days. Fish have been showing up deep and shallow. Dead sticking has still been the top producing technique, but jigging a small spoon or tube jig to mimic a minnow can be deadly during low light hours! Color varies daily, but putting out a combination of pinks, oranges, greens, and whites, usually produces some kind of pattern to follow. Small tungsten jigs, tube jigs, ratsos, rat finkes, and kastmasters have all been producing. Be sure to tip your lure with a meal worm, wax worm, earth worm, or piece of raw shrimp!

Antero reservoir, located in South Park Colorado, holds a variety of species including: rainbow trout, brown trout, cut-bow trout, cutthroat trout, splake, brook trout, and tiger musky!
