Blue Mesa is still about 95% open water and the fishing is excellent throwing jerk baits and jigs! There is a small patch of ice at the Gunnison River inlet that ranges from 3-9″ in thickness. There have been some people fishing it with success on typical trout spoons and jigs. More to come as the rest of the reservoir should freeze up over the next 4-5 weeks!
