Early Ice Update
Early ice conditions change rapidly, always check your own ice, and don’t push your luck. Also, it’s a good idea to fish with a buddy, carry ice picks, use a spud bar, and bring a throwable flotation. Be safe out there and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Blue Mesa– 11/27/24
There is some ice on Blue Mesa from about 200 yards west of Hwy 149 bridge stretching into the inlet. Ice thickness is 2-5 inches with heavy slush on top after our big snow this week. With the “after the storm” cold temps the ice is expected to keep growing rapidly.
Antero– 11/22/24
Antero has capped and the ice thickness varies across the lake from 2-6 inches with some nasty pressure ridges that should be avoided.
Tarryall– 11/22/24
Tarryall is mostly capped. Some small open water spots in the middle. Ice thickness is 1-6 inches.
Lake San Cristobal 11/27/24
No safe ice yet. Most of the ice gains we had melted with the rainy day yesterday, but with cold temps in the forecast it should lock up soon.
