Will we have early ice?!
Early Antero Ice: November 11, 2022
We are already seeing ice forming on Antero reservoir and if the forecast for the next week stays cold with minimal wind we might have early ice! Early ice requires extra caution as conditions can change quickly and vary across the lake. We HIGHLY recommend fishing with a partner, paying attention to the forecast and the conditions (sun and wind can change things in a hurry), and carry the following safety equipment:
-Ice Picks, 100′ of rope, a throwable flotation device and or lifevests, a spud bar to test the ice as you walk, ice cleats as new ice with now snow is very slippery!
Be smart, be safe, and lets hope for an early safe ice fishing season!
